Tulips from the Spring Festival

About a fortnight ago, we (me and 2 others from the Photography Club) went to the Wellington Botanic Garden to take pictures of beautiful Tulips! The display of tulips (and other Spring flowers) is part of Wellington’s Spring Festival. It’s usually held on the last week of September to herald the coming of Spring. Though honestly, this year, even though 1st October marked the 1st day of Spring, it still felt a whole lot like Winter! We’ve had cold fronts left and right, Southerlies blowing every other day – it’s just bizarre! But – I guess that’s just how it is during early Spring (and late Autumn) – the weather can be finicky and sometimes, Winter just wants to stay a bit longer (or in the case of Autumn, come a wee bit earlier).

Anyway, here are some of my photos. I’m still not that confident about using Lightroom to edit my images, so I’m not so sure if these look okay. I can’t even put a watermark on them – well, not that anyone would want to pinch my images.

I obviously spent too much time taking photos of yellow tulips! I can’t help it! The yellow colour was so warm and inviting and … cheerful! I actually missed the event last year – I had planned to go but couldn’t find a place to park so decided against it. How silly, aye? I’ll make sure that I go again next year – and by then, I hope my photography skills have improved and I can take better pictures.

Have an amazing Sunday!
